Resolve alert project errors
Fix project-selection errors when creating or moving an alert rule.
On this page
New alert rules must select an active project in your organization.
Creating a rule or changing its project checks that the selected project exists,
is active, and belongs to the organization you are using. Your agent sees these errors in the
result of create_alert_rule or update_alert_rule over MCP, and from anectico alerts rules create or anectico alerts rules update in the CLI.
Check the selected project
A response with project_id not found in this organization means the project
cannot be used for this rule. Check the organization selected in your session or
API key, confirm the project's ID, and confirm that the project is active. In the
Console, open Projects (/projects) to see your projects; your agent can list
them with list_projects or anectico projects list. The
same message is used for missing, inactive and other-organization projects. A
refused create does not save a rule; a refused project change leaves the existing
rule unchanged.
Use the credential's project
An organization-wide credential must select a project. An omitted or all-zero
project ID is rejected with project_id is required; a malformed ID is rejected
with invalid project_id.
A project-scoped API key always uses its assigned project. Supplying a different
project_id in the body does not move the rule outside that scope. The assigned
project must still exist and be active.
Recover from validation failures
When project validation is temporarily unavailable, the save is refused rather than accepted without checking. Retry a temporary failure after service recovery. A message saying validation is not available in this deployment requires your administrator's attention rather than repeated retries.
Pausing an existing rule without changing its project remains available during a project-validation outage. Reading and deleting rules retain their usual access requirements. For partial updates, only an explicitly selected project change is validated; a project ID outside the update mask does not change the rule's project.
